چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims Hemodiafiltration (HDF) is characterized by enhanced clearance of middle molecular weight toxins therefore, it considered superior to hemodialysis (HD), especially in higher hemofiltration volumes. Although proinflammatory cytokines are lower HDF, its impact on immune phenotype has not been studied, so far. In this study we compared the lymphocytes’ senescent between HD HDF patients. Method Senescent exhausted related lymphocyte markers, including CD45RA, CCR7, CD28, CD57 PD1 T cells CD27 IgD B cells, were assessed flow cytometry 35 ESRD patients 25 similar age, sex, ethnicity. Moreover, evaluated association these markers with volume. Results Patients had significantly reduced CD4+CD28- lymphocytes, 31(18-74) vs 50(36-131)cells/μL, respectively, p = 0.019, which was restricted only CD28-CD57- compartment, [17(9-25) 31(19-50)cells/μL, 0,002], while terminally differentiated CD28-CD57+ did differ two groups [14(4-49) 23(7-52)cells/μL, 0,22]. Expression molecule CD4+ depended dialysis vintage (r 0.27, 0.03). percentage CD4+PD1+ [8.5(6.8-11.7) 13.7(8.7-19.5) % for 0.006]. CD8+PD1+ also patients, without reaching statistical significance [17.4(8.5-41) 34(12,7-52.9) 0.06]. Hemofiltration volume negatively correlated effector memory CD8+ re-expressing CD45RA count (CD8+ EMRA), -0.46, 0.027) positively total 0.46, 0.025). However, all cell subsets equally affected, naïve IgD+CD27- switched IgD-CD27+ showing positive correlation 0.53, 0.008 r 0.5, 0.015, respectively). Conclusion high filtration volumes may have beneficial effects adaptive immunity, predisposing less phenotypes.

Effect of dialysis modality on frailty phenotype, disability, and health-related quality of life in maintenance dialysis patients

BACKGROUND Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) surveys are needed to evaluate regional and ethnic specificies. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the differences in HRQoL, frailty, and disability according to dialysis modality in the Korean population. PATIENTS AND METHODS We enrolled relatively stable maintenance dialysis patients. A total of 1,616 patients were recruited into o...

Surface Globulins of T and B Lymphocytes

The concept that lymphocytes recognize antigens by means of a surface receptor molecule of immunoglobulin (Ig) character has come to be widely accepted (1-3). Direct study of such receptors in the mouse by means of antiglobulin reagents labeled with either fuorescent (4, 5) or radioisotope (3, 6-8) markers has revealed a dense coating of surface immunoglobulins on nonthymus-derived or B lymphoc...

the evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Adverse Effect of T-2 Toxin and the Protective Role of Selenium and Vitamin E on Peripheral Blood B lymphocytes

Background: T-2 mycotoxin belongs to the Trichothecene family and has damaging effects on the immune system. Objective: To investigate the toxic effect of T-2 toxin on the percentage of peripheral blood B lymphocytes and the potential protective role of selenium and vitamin E. Method: Frequencies of B lymphocytes (CD19+ ) were analyzed after injection of sublethal doses of T-2 toxin into Balb/c...

In the lateswitch group, renal toxicity resulted in an increased hospitalization duration (from 4 to 10 days) in 3 patients (vs. zero patients in the early switch group). In the early switch group, no patients were given dialysis vs. one patient that required two sessions in late-switch group...
